Guides & Tools for Christian Living
"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things, and be in health just as your soul prospers!" These are the words of the Apostle John in 3 John chapter 2. This is also my desire for you! John addressed this epistle to Gaius, a beloved brother. His purpose was to encourage Gaius with regard to sickness in his body despite the fact that he was a spiritually strong believer. He wanted Gaius to have prosperity in his spiritual, physical and material life. In other words, he wanted balance for Gaius. That should be an objective of every believer within the body of Christ.

Journey To Financial Freedom

He also said to His disciples: “There was a certain rich man who had a steward, and an accusation was brought to him that this man was wasting his goods. 2 So he called him and said to him, ‘What is this I hear about you? Give an account of your stewardship, for you can no longer be steward.’ (Luke 16:1-2) NKJV

Stewardship is not about ownership but managing the resources that belong to someone else. We must first understand that everything belongs to the Lord and He has given us management of the resources that He made available to us. He made the Earth and put us in it to tend to it. (Psalms 24:1, Haggai 2:8 and 1Chronicles 29:14)

We spend a lot of time blaming the devil as the reason why we have problems in our finances. There are some things going on that we can not attribute to the devil. Sometimes, the problem lies within us. There are two enemies of stewardship: 1) Ignorance – What we don’t know can kill you and make you broke! Simply start with balancing your check book and tracking your spending. You will be amazed in your ability to find ways in which you can cut back. 2) Debt- Many of us are living above and beyond our means and don’t understand the difference between good and bad debit.

God made so much available to us as believers. He gave us stewardship over a kingdom and keys that we would have dominion over the resources of His vast glory. To be financially free, we need God’s Principles, Purpose and Plan. God gives us the ability to get wealth, so that He can establish His covenant, grant His blessings, make one rich and add no sorrow. These are biblical truths, but we must remember the purpose for money! It should be used for “God and Good”, to glorify God and for the good of mankind! And finally, you must have a plan. Develop a spending plan allowing you to give your money a vision and seize the opportunity to pay off debt.

"The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty." (Proverbs 21:5) NKJV

The plan is this:
1. Become a Steward of Gods Resources.
2. Transfer Ownership to Him. For all that we have is His!
3. No More Debt!
4. Develop a Spending Plan.
5. Pay Off Debt.
6. Advance the Kingdom!
